NEW DELHI, Feb 5: On Monday, the administration requested permission from the Lok Sabha to increase net spending by Rs 78,673 crore for the current fiscal year. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the second set of supplemental grant requests for the 2023–24 fiscal year to the Lok Sabha. Over Rs 2 lakh crore in gross additional spending is included in the supplementary grant demands, which would be offset by over Rs 1.21 lakh crore in savings. The proposal, according to the document submitted to the Lok Sabha, calls for net cash outlays totaling Rs 78,672.92 crore.
