Govt Holds All-Party Meet On Manipur

NEW DELHI, Jun 24: On Saturday, An all-party meeting convened by Amit Shah, began here to discuss the prevailing situation in Manipur.Since the state’s ethnic unrest began on May 3, about 120 people have died and more than 3,000 have been injured.
The gathering is being attended by leaders from a variety of political groups, including the BJP, Congress, Trinamool Congress, Left parties, and others.After a “Tribal Solidarity March” was arranged across the hill districts on May 3 to protest against the Meitei community’s demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, violent skirmishes broke out in Manipur.In an effort to restore peace in the northeastern state, Shah spent four days there last month, meeting a wide range of individuals.
Due to the fact that the violence has continued for more than 50 days, the opposition parties have criticised the government’s handling of the crisis.
