JAMMU: In an effort to bolster law enforcement and guarantee the protection and security of the local populace, the Home Department has forwarded 4022 constable positions in the J&K Police to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). Relevantly, the J&K Police Constable positions were previously posted in 2019. As of right now, roughly 4022 openings are being marketed, which will increase the ranks of constabulary in the crucial UT Police security force unit. This will significantly contribute to enhancing law enforcement’s capacity to successfully handle a range of security issues and uphold peace and order.This programme would not only strengthen Jammu & Kashmir’s overall security apparatus, but it will also provide job opportunities for the young of the region. Due to a shortage of recruits at the constable level, the J&K Police was experiencing a manpower shortage that was impacting its operational readiness and delivery system. The Services Selection Board will hold a recruitment process shortly, and interested people can apply to be considered for the next procedure. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to provide job opportunities for young people in the area.According to the breakdown of these 4022 positions, there are 1689 openings for J&K Armed/IRP Constables, 100 SDRF Constables, 502 Telecom Constables, 20 Driver Constables, and 22 Photography Constables under the UT cadre, and 1689 openings for Constable Executive Police in the divisional cadre, comprising 1249 posts for Jammu and 440 posts for Kashmir.
