JAMMU: Today, Lt. General Navin Sachdeva, the GOC of 16 Corps, Nagrota, visited Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo in his office and discussed crucial security issues. Using this opportunity, the Chief Secretary expressed gratitude to the Army for its efforts to fortify different civic welfare measures. He even praised the contributions made by Army Schools and Sainik Schools to the spread of high-quality education in Utah. In this speech, the Chief Secretary briefed the GOC on the benefits of compassionate appointment granted to military personnel residing in J&K and performing their duties in connection with law and order issues, militancy/terrorist-related activities, or as a result of hostile action.Security, drug trafficking, army welfare initiatives, and other matters concerning Civil-Military Liaison were among the topics discussed during the discussion. General Sachdeva emphasised the necessity of frequent meetings while acknowledging the value of the current framework of cooperation and assuring the Chief Secretary of the Army’s full support. During this initial conversation, the General also shed light on how Pir Topa in Poonch has developed into a model hamlet and the Army’s initiatives in nearby villages were also thoroughly reviewed.
