JAMMU: To promote ease of doing business and bring Food Business Operators under the ambit of Food Safety and Standards Act, a special License-cum-Registration camp was organized at Ware House Nehru Market here by Food Safety Wing of Drugs and Food Control Organization with the support of Traders Federation of the Market.
With this, the Government opened a Tetkaal FSSAI License/Registration window from today onward which is a big step forward and great relief for traders of Food Chain in the country.
A total of 50 licenses were renewed and 25 new licenses issued to various Food Business Operators on the spot, which mainly included the wholesale dealers of this grain mandi.
The members of Federation were sensitized regarding the advisories issued by the Commissioner Food and Drugs Administration J&K Hashmat Ali Yatoo on mandatory mentioning of FSSAI License Number on the Invoices. They were also directed to keep their premises neat and clean and destroy the rotten commodities themselves at the designated places.
The camp was held under the supervision of Madan Magotra, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Food Safety Jammu in which Assistant Commissioner Rajan Kapoor and Ajay Khajuria and their team members issued licenses on the spot.
Deepak Gupta, president of the Federation, said that Traders Federation had organized this special camp for its traders under Ease of Doing Business. He said the Federation has decided to do the paperwork of its traders at its level so that the traders can focus on their business.
Others present on this occasion were Munish Mahajan (senior vice president of the Federation), Abhimanyu Gupta (vice president), Sham Lal Langer (general secretary) and Vishal Gupta (secretary).
