JAMMU, Jul 23: Officials said, a fresh batch of over 3,000 pilgrims Amid tight security left here early Sunday for the Amarnath shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.Since the pilgrimage from the twin routes of Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal districts began on July 1, more than 3.20 lakh people have so far paid devotion at the cave sanctuary.
A convoy of 141 cars carrying 3,691 pilgrims departed Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the valley this morning, according to an official.
While 2,203 pilgrims are travelling to Pahalgam to continue their journey to the cave, 1,488 pilgrims are travelling to Baltal base camp, according to him.
