SRINAGAR, Sept 15: As the operation to drive out the ultras began its third day on Friday, officials said drones were being used to determine the location of the terrorists who had set up camp in a wooded region on a high terrain in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. On Wednesday, the terrorists murdered four members of the security force. Based on drone monitoring, the military “fired mortar shells on the terrain where they believe the terrorists are hiding,” according to the officials. They continued by saying that the security personnel had kept a close cordon around the area.In an encounter with the terrorists on Wednesday morning at Gadole in the Kokernag region of the south Kashmir district, Colonel Manpreet Singh, commanding officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Army, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat, and a soldier were all killed.
