SRINAGAR, Dec 4: According to officials here on Monday, a fire that started in the Jammu and Kashmir district of Baramulla damaged four residences as well as a joinery factory. There have been no recorded casualties. The fire started late on Sunday night, according to a representative of the Fire and Emergency Services Department. He said that the cause of the fire was being investigated. “Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the flames were doused,” he said. Based on initial findings, the fire originated from Ghulam Ahmad Najar’s residence in Kanlibagh, Baramulla, and proceeded to other surrounding residences and the mill. Locals and police personnel received assistance in extinguishing the fire from army forces stationed nearby. The official stated, “The quick action stopped the fire from spreading to other houses in the area.”
