NEW DELHI: An official invitation to the January 22, 2024, consecration ceremony of the magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya was sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. PM Modi described the day as full of “emotions,” stating that he is “blessed” and that it is his good fortune to be present for such a momentous event. “I have a lot of feelings today. Officials from the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust visited me at home recently. On the occasion of the Ram temple’s consecration, he has invited me to visit Ayodhya,” PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter). “I’m really fortunate.I am fortunate enough to be present for this historic occasion throughout my lifetime,” the post stated. According to Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Ram Janambhoomi Trust, the idol of Lord Ram will be placed at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22 of the next year. Members of the Shri Ram Janambhoomi Trust and I had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. We have extended an invitation to PM Modi to visit us on January 22 in order to install the Lord Ram idol in the Garbhagriha. He agreed to our request. He’s going to be there on January 22. Champat Rai declared, “The date for ‘Pran Pratishtha’ on January 22 is confirmed.”It is important to remember that the 2019 ruling by the Supreme Court regarding the Ayodhya issue cleared the path for the erection of a magnificent Ram temple. The centre established the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra’ Trust in response to the ruling of the supreme court to make all decisions pertaining to the building of a magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya. Under the Trust’s direction, the temple’s construction has been moving along steadily. The temple’s sanctum sanctorum will house the idol of Ram Lalla. On August 5, 2020, PM Modi laid the cornerstone for the construction of the Ram Temple.
