NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, claimed on Wednesday that there is a drive to delegitimize the AAP and that fabricated charges are being brought against party officials. After meeting the Delhi chief minister at his home on Tuesday, Amanatullah Khan, an AAP MLA whose residence was raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), made the allegations. In connection with a money-laundering probe involving Khan and some others, the ED searched Khan’s Delhi property. Three to four locations were searched in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, according to official sources.”There have been 170 charges brought against our (AAP) leaders, but the judgements in 140 of those cases have gone in our favour,” the AAP chief told reporters after meeting Khan.They began detaining our key leaders and ministers in the past few months.The raids being conducted are a part of an effort to stop the AAP,” he stated. Kejriwal said that neither the ED nor the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are conducting any investigations in states where the BJP is in power, and that the saffron party’s goal is to disturb opposition leaders rather than eradicate corruption. “We have observed how many who Modiji had referred to as corrupt have joined the BJP. He continued, “They have accepted corrupt individuals from opposition parties into their ranks. Kejriwal asserted that there is a climate of fear in the nation while reiterating that the AAP is a party of nationalists. He claimed that “people are leaving India and moving to other countries.”
