Chandigarh, Nov 20: In Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, the BSF on Monday retrieved a drone from an agricultural field close to the India-Pakistan border, according to an official. The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended eight Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used to smuggle heroin across the border in the last week at various locations in Punjab. The official stated that on Monday, the Punjab Police and the troops carried out a cooperative search operation on the outskirts of Mehdipur village in Tarn Taran, based on specific information. He also mentioned that a Chinese-made quadcopter was found in a field during the operation. The BSF added that during the previous week, its soldiers had found and intercepted five kilogrammes of heroin and eight Pakistani drones.“The alert troops of @BSF_Punjab have recovered and intercepted eight Pakistani drones that were smuggling drugs into India over the past seven days.” In addition, the BSF was able to apprehend two smugglers and seize about five kilogrammes of heroin, according to a post on X. It also stated, “Notably, all of the intercepted drones were used for cross-border smuggling and were manufactured in China.”
