Dr Jitendra Directs Administration To Expedite Kishtwar Relief, Rehabilitation Work

DODA, Sept 27 : Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today reviewed the implementation of Modi government’s flagship schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission, PMAY, PMGSY, PM-Kisan and Sansad Khel Spardha in Kishtwar district.
The Minister directs the administration to expedite relief, rehabilitation works in the aftermath of recent cloudbursts and flash floods.
While chairing the DISHA meeting with the entire district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma, Dr Jitendra Singh said effective delivery of essential supplies like water and power must be the top priority of the administration, with special focus on far-flung parts of Kishtwar. He said steps must be taken to ensure ease of living for common masses. He said the Modi government is focussed on improving the lives of citizens.
Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that public representatives should accompany district officers during their visits to rural habitations. He said their coordination would help address public issues more effectively and in a time-bound manner.
During the meeting, Dr Jitendra Singh assured that he would take up with the Ministry of Civil Aviation construction of the air strip in Kishtwar under Udaan scheme sooner. He asked the Deputy Commissioner to furnish a report on the status of the air strip for which a proposal has already been approved by the Government of India. He said with the development of a full-fledged airstrip, the district would get round-the-year facility, especially during harsh winter season.
The Union Minister told the Deputy Commissioner to project requirement of funds under Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for Kishtwar so that allocation is made for the district by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted the importance of addressing public grievances, improving health and education infrastructure, and strengthening livelihood opportunities for the youth through skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives. He urged the district administration to conduct training programmes for upskilling of the local youth who can be engaged in the ongoing projects of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation(NHPC) in the district.
The Minister also called for creating awareness about Sansad Khel Spardha youth. He said camps should be organised for on-the-spot enrolment of interested youth in the coming days. The Minister said the scheme offers sportspersons an opportunity to participate in competitions at the national level.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a presentation on the implementation of various schemes. He informed that 100 per cent targets have been met under PMAY(Gramin). He said 120.48 crore rupees have been disbursed to farmers under PM Kisan and 147.34 crore under Kisan Credit card scheme. He also informed that under PM Surya Ghar scheme, subsidy has been disbursed to 208 beneficiaries so far.
Today’s DISHA meeting was attended among others by the Leader of the Opposition in J&K Assembly and MLA, Padder-Nagseni, Sunil Sharma; DDC members from Bonjwah, Nagseni, Drabshalla A, Drabshalla B and NHPC officials.
