UDHAMPUR: Four hotels and a banquet hall have been forced to close for violating pollution control regulations by District Magistrate Udhampur Saloni Rai. Following the J&K PCB’s directive and with the appropriate authority’s approval, the DM used sections 33(A) of the Water Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1974, and section 31(A) of the Air Prevention and Control of Pollution Act 1981 Act, in conjunction with section 5 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986, to take legal action against five hotels and a banquet hall that fall under the Udhampur District’s jurisdiction. The hotels include the Hotel Singh Axis, Hotel Singh Shine, Banquet…The closure of the designated establishments was enforced by a group of Revenue, Police, and PCB officials under the direction of Tehsildar Udhampur, Jai Singh, and Tehsildar Chenani, Pankaj Singh Bahu. In addition to assisting with the closure of the aforementioned businesses, the combined team advised the hotel owners to strictly follow the PCB’s rules. Ensuring environmental compliance and controlling pollution in the area are the goals of this effort.
