JAMMU: The District Level Standing Committee on Security met on Monday, and District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya gave a review of the security situation in Jammu District’s border areas. The Indo-Pakistan Border areas were thoroughly reviewed and a number of important issues were discussed during the meeting. The Indian Army and paramilitary officers present at the meeting, along with SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar, gave a thorough report on the security situation and the measures taken to prevent any enemy attempts at mischief.The DM specifically asked about the state of security and the steps being taken to stop enemy forces from trying to infiltrate or violate the ceasefire. He recognised the security forces’ contribution to maintaining the region’s peace and tranquilly as well as protecting the border. The DM emphasised the importance of development in border areas, emphasising improved connectivity and basic amenities for border residents given the particular difficulties their demographics present. He declared that the government is dedicated to raising the standard of living of border residents by providing all necessary infrastructure and amenities.The DM gave the district officers instructions to visit the border areas on a prearranged basis on a regular basis to monitor saturation and the implementation of government programmes, as well as to gather input on the complaints and demands of the local populace. It was instructed to the officers to continue working closely with the security services as well. The government will stop at nothing to address the concerns and goals of border citizens, Sachin Kumar emphasised. In order to preserve peace, law, and order in the border regions, he also urged the populace to work with the government and the security forces.The border areas are receiving special attention from the district administration due to the various challenges that the local people face. In addition to other officers, Sub Divisional Magistrates and Executive Engineers attended the meeting.
