JAMMU: A conference to assess the advancement of the Jal Jeevan Mission activities in the district was presided over by District Magistrate of Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, today. The District Magistrate was given thorough information on the Jal Jeevan Mission task allocations and the status of tender issuance during the meeting. The District Magistrate imposed clear timelines for each work to hasten project start and finish. Officials from the Jal Shakti Department and the Irrigation & Flood Control Departments, including Superintendent Engineers and Executive Engineers, attended the conference. The District Magistrate gave the corresponding Sub-Divisional Magistrates instructions to supervise the works within their respective territorial jurisdictions in order to ensure smooth execution and the removal of any potential obstacles.To organise JJM projects, they were expressly told to develop lists and gather the resources needed. The SDMs were instructed to use every possible tool in their power to ensure adherence to established deadlines. The District Magistrate stressed the importance of preserving work quality while accelerating project execution in addition to encouraging cooperation among all stakeholders. Weekly progress reports must be submitted in accordance with his instructions to guarantee openness and responsibility. District Magistrate Vaishya advised officials to address the legitimate concerns of locals during the project’s implementation, recognising the value of community involvement. Along with other officers, the Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Revenue, and District Forest Officer were present at the meeting.
