SAMBA: Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, visited the Samba district today and attended meeting at the DC Office Complex to discuss the revenue-related issues in the area. The crucial topic of digitising Jamabandies, the old land revenue records, was covered in the discussion. The group was informed that impressive progress had been made, with 380 Jamabandies out of the total 382 having been digitalized.The Div Com instructed the responsible officers to complete digitising the final two Jamabandies for the villages of Bagia and Kartholi by September 30, 2023. The Jamabandies’ weekly digitization progress was given to the SDM Vijaypur to actively monitor, with regular updates to DC Samba. The reproduction of Massavies (revenue records) was another topic covered at the meeting. Tehsildars Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmana, as well as SDM Vijaypur, were given instructions to complete the Masavi by the allotted deadlines. To ensure correct Massavi documentation, these projects necessitate close coordination with the Forest Department and the Irrigation Department.The crucial duty of georeferencing cadastral maps and certificates was also covered at the discussion. The implementation of Geo-referencing, key step to improve the accuracy and accessibility of land records, has been mandated for all communities. The Div Com carefully examined the Change of Land Use (CLU) problems throughout the meeting. He emphasised the importance of handling cases quickly in accordance with PSGA principles. To guarantee applicants receive seamless service quality, thorough investigation of rejection rates and underlying factors was conducted. The focus of the meeting’s conclusion was administrative effectiveness. Further emphasising the dedication to quick processes, reports from the Sub-Divisional Level Committee and District Level Committee, together with related recommendations, were requested. The Divisional Commissioner also emphasised the need for the swift demolition of buildings along the Delhi Katra Amritsar Expressway’s route. He ordered NHAI to create a removal schedule that was prioritised and was supported by daily reviews from ADC Samba. This meeting highlighted the value of streamlined processes, organised document management, and thoughtful responsibility distribution within the revenue domain. The Divisional Commissioner for Jammu also reviewed the land acquisition cases for the Delhi Katra Motorway and the payment of compensation. He gave the relevant officers instructions to move forward more quickly to ensure the seamless completion of the road project. The Div Com also carefully examined how court cases, online revenue services, land transfer cases, and the operation of e-offices were progressing. Abhishek Sharma, the deputy commissioner for Samba, as well as additional deputy commissioners, the assistant commissioner for revenue, sub divisional magistrates, tehsildars, and other relevant officials, attended the meeting.
