JAMMU: Div Com Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting of DCs to assess the status of different land acquisition cases of BSF in Jammu Division.Progress was discussed during the meeting regarding the acquisition of land for BOPs, the notification of Small Farm Field Firing Ranges, and the acquisition/transfer of land for the BSF 161Bn. Key Location Plan (KPL). Each land purchase case was carefully scrutinised by the Divisional Commissioner, who also sought updates from the incumbent Deputy Commissioners (DCs). He was informed of the developments in each case by the DCs.The Divisional Commissioner gave directions to the DCs in order to speed up the procedure and guarantee effective administration. He emphasised the necessity for prompt resolutions and requested them to personally monitor and follow up on the outstanding issues. The DCs were instructed to furnish a current list of cases and information on their status. To improve collaboration between the district administrations and the BSF, the Divisional Commissioner gave the BSF officials instructions on who to designate as nodal officers.Nodal officers would operate as points of contact, enabling fast communication and accelerating the resolution of each case, he continued. The Div Com gave DCs instructions to speed up the procedure and guarantee a complete payment of compensation to landowners while reviewing the disbursement of compensation. He also requested that DCs issue any awards that were pending in the districts. Officers from the BSF, CPWD, and Deputy Commissioners from Jammu, Samba, and Kathua, as well as ACRs and SDMs, participated at the meeting in person.
