SAMBA: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today conducted an extensive review of the final arrangements for the upcoming elections in Samba District. The visit focused on monitoring the operational readiness and logistical framework essential for the seamless execution of polling day. The District Election Officer (DEO) Samba, Rajesh Sharma, accompanied by senior officers, briefed the Divisional Commissioner on the comprehensive measures being put in place for the upcoming polls. The review covered crucial aspects such as the dispatch of polling parties, establishment of collection centers, transport logistics and the provision of other necessary infrastructure required for effective polling operations. During his visit, the Div Com inspected the Election Control Room, which will serve as the center for managing real-time polling operations and addressing any emerging challenges on Election Day. The control room is equipped to handle various election-related issues and ensure swift resolutions to maintain the integrity of the electoral process. A detailed inspection of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) cell was also conducted, where the Divisional Commissioner was given a thorough briefing on the operations and protocols being followed by the teams stationed there. In addition to reviewing the electoral preparations, the Divisional Commissioner also took stock of the law and order situation in the district. In coordination with senior law enforcement officials, he assessed the security arrangements being put in place to ensure a peaceful and incident-free polling environment. Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and seamless coordination among all departments involved in the electoral process. He stressed that the successful conduct of free and fair elections is paramount and requires unwavering commitment from all stakeholders. The visit was attended by key district officials, including SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar, ADC Samba, Jagdish Singh, Nodal Officer MCC, Gurpreet Singh, and other nodal officers responsible for various election-related duties.
