JAMMU: At a meeting of representatives from the stakeholder departments today, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar reviewed the state of land acquisition and other challenges connected to the Jammu Airport Expansion Project. When he inquired about the Jammu Airport Expansion project, he was told that the land purchase was practically finished and that just a few small pieces of land at Belicharna with buildings and infrastructure for animal husbandry had not been given to the airport authorities. It was disclosed that Animal Husbandry had previously evacuated 20 buildings, and that 2 more had done so today, clearing the path for the project’s completion. The Animal Husbandry Department has been given alternative land to relocate its office and hatchery buildings. The conference was informed that land had been allocated in the Nagrota and Chatha areas. The Div Com gave DC Jammu the go-ahead to address the concerns on the designated land in order to permit the timely relocation of the Animal Husbandry buildings. Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Director of Animal Husbandry, Director of the Airport, Assistant Commissioner of the Central, Additional Secretary of the Civil Aviation Department, and other important personnel were present at the meeting.
