JAMMU: Ramesh Kumar, the Divisional Commissioner for Jammu, presided over a meeting on Friday to discuss the status of the Delhi-Amritsar Katra Motorway project’s construction. Along with senior officers from the Forest, JPDCL, Defence Estates, and other relevant departments, the meeting was attended by NHAI Regional Officers, Director Airports, Chief Engineers, Jal Shakti, and Project Directors. Deputy Commissioners from Kathua, Samba, Reasi, and Jammu also participated via video conference. The meeting examined the status of the work on the famous motorway in great detail. It was stated that all of the completed packages are currently under construction. The Divisional Commissioner thoroughly examined the procedures for acquiring land and allocating compensation.In order to guarantee the smooth completion of the esteemed road projects, he gave the Deputy Commissioners instructions to act quickly to resolve land-related concerns and any obstacles. He gave Tehsildars tight instructions to speed the payment of land purchase compensation within a given time period. In this regard, he also directed DCs to approach Tehsildars for weekly progress reports. A further highlight of the meeting was the majority of land-related issues were resolved. In order to quickly address any outstanding issues, the Divisional Commissioner asked NHAI personnel to be in constant contact with the Deputy Commissioners. To guarantee the Delhi-Amritsar Katra Expressway’s prompt completion, the NHAI was given the order to expedite the project’s construction.
