NAGALAND, Jan 16: Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, stated on Tuesday that the BJP and the RSS have transformed the consecration of the Ram temple on January 22 into a “political event” based around Prime Minister Narendra Modi, making it difficult for the leaders of his party to attend. His comments came a few days after the high brass of the Congress rejected an invitation to the ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, during a press conference held in conjunction with the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.The prime minister is the focal point of politics during the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple. It is challenging for us to go since the BJP and the RSS are giving it an election flavour,” Gandhi remarked. “We find it challenging to participate in the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple because the BJP and the RSS, our main rivals, have hijacked the event and made it an election event,” he stated. The leader of the Congress party said that the opposition INDIA bloc will beat the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections. According to him, the talks for seat sharing among the partners in the INDIA bloc are proceeding nicely. “I have faith that minor issues within the INDIA bloc will be settled, and we will defeat the BJP as a group. We are discussing seat sharing with our allies in the INDIA bloc. The talks are going quite well, Gandhi reported. He declared that the opposition alliance will come together and win the Lok Sabha election. The yatra started on January 14 in Thoubal, Manipur, and arrived in Nagaland on Monday night. The march, which will take place primarily by bus but also on foot over 6,713 miles through 100 Lok Sabha constituencies in 15 states, will come to an end on March 20 or 21 in Mumbai.
