DGP visits border areas, reviews security in Jammu district

JAMMU, May 16: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, today visited the border areas of Jammu district to review the security situation and interact with personnel stationed there.The DGP began his tour from the RS Pura sector, where he was accompanied by DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, and other senior officers.He interacted with BSF and J&K Police jawans at various Border Out Posts (BOPs), including Octroi (Suchetgarh), Kharkola, and police posts at Baspur Bangla and Agra Chak in the RS Pura sector.
Later, the DGP visited the border Police Station Kanachak and Border Police Post Sandwan.
There, he held interactions with officers and jawans, reviewing preparedness and coordination on the ground.During his visit, the DGP acknowledged the crucial role of Jammu and Kashmir Police during the recent Indo-Pak conflict.
He lauded the officers for their swift action in evacuating residents from border villages, which helped save many lives.
The DGP also praised the bravery and dedication of BSF personnel deployed along the International Border in Jammu.
He saluted their courage, sacrifice and resilience in defending the nation and giving a strong response to any hostile activity.
