JAMMU: A retirement present of Rs 1.06 crore has been approved by Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain, for 106 employees who left their jobs either reaching superannuation or choosing to leave voluntarily. Additionally, the DGP has approved a welfare/parting gift of Rs 3.6 lakh for nine SPOs who have reached the age of sixty. A statement stated that four gazetted officers, seventy-two non-gazetted officials, twenty lesser subordinates, and eight followers of various police wings have each been approved to receive retiring gifts of Rs 1 lakh from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund. It stated that nine SPOs who were removed from the SPO records after turning 60 had each been approved for a welfare/partying gift of Rs 40,000. As a lasting thank you for their contributions to the department, police officers are authorised to receive retirement gifts.
