JAMMU: The Jammu & Kashmir Police Grievance Redressal Portal “Awaam Se, Awaam Ke Liye” was launched on Monday by Director General of Police, J&K, RR Swain, with the goal of enhancing structured and decentralised interaction with citizens and improving the resolution of their grievances. Along with other officials, both offline and online, the launch event at Police Headquarters Jammu featured Additional Director Generals of Police (ADGPs) M K Sinha, Sunil Kumar, Anand Jain, and Nitish Kumar. The DGP Swain emphasised at the launch the importance of the portal in providing more organised resolutions to citizen and police personnel issues. According to him, commanding officers can simultaneously receive updates, check the status of their applications, and forward them to the appropriate authorities via the portal.“It aims to streamline the grievance resolution process, saving time for citizens and the department,” said the chief of police. Swain expressed hope that a great deal of people would gain both qualitatively and quantitatively from the smart portal. The speaker expressed his appreciation to ADGP Armed J&K for their use of the slogan “Awaam Se, Awaam Ke Liye” and recognised the efforts of DySP IT PHQ, Junaid Hakeem, and Director IT, NIC Baijul Ubbott in creating the portal. Director NIC showcased the features of the portal, while DySP IT offered insights into its operation. According to the complainant, the portal provides email and SMS confirmations, 24/7 accessibility, complaint status tracking, and alerts when a complaint is resolved.
