DEO Poonch holds meeting of ROs, AROs to review election preparedness

POONCH, AUGUST 17: District Election Officer (DEO) Poonch, Vikas Kundal today chaired a review meeting with all district officers, ROs/AROs and Nodal Officers to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming Legislative Assembly Elections in the district.
During the meeting, the DEO directed the concerned officers to submit the action plan regarding the election. He underscored the importance of efficient manpower management and also discussed the establishment of a control room, strong room and counting center setup, ensuring that all the necessary arrangements are put in place in advance for the smooth conduct of the Assembly Election.
Special emphasis was placed on the polling stations and the formation of Static Surveillance Teams (SST) and Flying Squads (FST) was also discussed. These teams will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order during the elections.
The meeting also addressed media-related concerns, including the establishment of a Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) to monitor and check cases of paid news.
All other necessary measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections were thoroughly discussed.
The District Election Officer directed all Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and Nodal Officers to rigorously review their preparedness for their respective assignments. He emphasized that the Model Code of Conduct is now in effect and instructed all concerned officers to ensure its full implementation.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, Khalid Hussain Wafa, SE PHE, ACR, ACD, DFP(T), DIO/DSWO, CAO, CHO, CMO, CAHO, DIO NIC, DSEO, Tehsildar Haveli, Tehsildar Surankote, Tehsildar Mandi, CDPO Mandi, ARTO, besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
