SRINAGAR, Sep 18: Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, and Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, declared on Sunday that the terrorists would receive a suitable punishment and that the deaths of Army and Police officers in the recent encounter in Anantnag would be avenged. “It is a tragic situation. Whether they are in the Army or the Police, our jawans risk their life to defend our borders. We are able to enjoy our festivals in this way and continue living our lives. This incident is condemned by every citizen of the nation, as am I. The terrorists would receive a suitable response, and PM Narendra Modi will be held accountable for every drop of blood, Shinde told reporters after attending an event here. The terrorists murdered a soldier on Wednesday along with Colonel Manpreet Singh, Commanding Officer, 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat, and Major Ashish Dhonchak.
