DC Reasi evaluates rainy season, flood control preparedness

REASI, JULY 07: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, chaired a comprehensive review meeting here today to assess the preparedness for the rainy season and flood control in the district. The meeting focused on rescue operations, relief measures and essential services like road connectivity, electricity supply, water management, and safety protocols.
DC Mahajan instructed officials to ensure all essential services are maintained and prepared to handle emergencies arising from adverse weather conditions. He emphasized public safety, directing the police and Tehsildars to advise residents against venturing near water bodies during the monsoon season. Health services were prioritized, with directives issued to stock adequate medicines and strategically locate ambulances.
A dedicated control room will be established to facilitate seamless communication and coordination among all departments involved in rescue and relief operations. DC Mahajan urged residents to stay vigilant, follow safety guidelines, and cooperate with local authorities to mitigate the impact of the rainy season effectively.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including SSP Mohita Sharma, O/C GREF Aditya Sharma, SEs PWD and Jal Shakti, ACR Anshumali Sharma, SDMs, Project Director NH Anuj, XENs PWD, PMGSY, JPDCL and Jal Shakti.
