KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today toured different areas of Kupwara district to inspect the ongoing snow-clearance operation and assess the arrangements put in place to address challenges arising after heavy snowfall.
The DC inspected Baramulla– Kupwara National Highway at Drugmulla, Nutnussa and Kawari and other areas to evaluate the efforts being made to restore the basic services.
She directed the concerned department to remove the snow from the roads so that the vehicles and pedestrians do not face problems.
During her tour, the DC also visited Migrant Colony Nutnoosa to take stock of essential services being provided there.
She urged all departments to be responsive and put in best efforts to ensure quick restoration of essential services.
It is pertinent to mention here that the entire Kupwara district is witnessing heavy snowfall for the last three days. District headquarters and its adjoining areas have recorded one foot of snow, while higher reaches of Karnah, Keran Lolab, Rajwar, Machal, Budanmal have recorded three to four feet of snow till now.
