KATHUA, DECEMBER 02: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting to review the implementation and progress achieved under the Rural Development sector schemes in the District.
The meeting was attended by the ADDC, Ankur Mahajan, Assistant Commissioner Development Kishore Singh Katoch, XEN REW, BDOs, and other concerned officers.
While reviewing the scheme wise works taken up by RDD, the DC laid thrust on early completion of already tendered works so as to achieve set targets within given timelines.
Stressing the urgency of Aadhar seeding, the Deputy Commissioner called for achieving 100 percent Aadhar seeding under MGNREGA promptly. A meticulous review of the progress showcased a strong commitment to creating sustainable livelihood opportunities
While discussing the establishment of Plastic Waste Management units in the district, the DC called upon ACD to work out a plan for arranging necessary machinery and other logistics to be installed at identified locations.
Within the ambit of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), the DC was apprised of the ongoing door-to-door waste collection in the district.
A detailed evaluation of the physical and financial advancements in Soakage pits, compost pits, segregation sheds, and community sanitary complexes underscored the dedication of the administration to sanitation and environmental sustainability.
Turning his attention towards housing initiatives, the Deputy Commissioner scrutinised the physical and financial status of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) and AWAS Plus and was impressed upon their early completion.
The DC also asked for regular review of works undertaken by BDOs so as to keep a check on the pace of progress and necessary directions may be given to expedite the work completion besides BDOs were also directed to prioritize the timely execution of all schemes while maintaining a strong emphasis on quality and transparency.
The DC extorted upon the BDOs to flag any bottlenecks in executions of works so that the same can be redressed timely with active coordination of concerned authorities
