JAMMU: DC Avny Lavasa today reviewed the arrangements for Independence Day celebration, here at a meeting held in the DC Office complex. SSP, Chandan Kohli; ADC L&O, Harvinder Singh; CMO, Dr Harbaksh Singh, ADM Sandeep Seointra; CPO, Yoginder Katoch along with senior officers from Police, Security, Jal Shakti, PDD, Information, Health, YSS and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.There was only a cursory discussion about the security arrangements, traffic regulation, seating arrangements, full dress rehearsal, decoration, Shehnai Vadan, PAS, power and water supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, barricading at the function site, and other crucial issues. The DC asked officers of security and police about the plans that their separate departments were making.She gave them instructions to prepare impenetrable security plans in advance for the National event. The DC gave the PHE and Jammu Municipal Corporation orders to provide drinking water at the celebration site for I-Day. The PDD and Jal Shakti department were given instructions to make sure that power and water, including water tankers, were managed properly at the location. The CMO was tasked with making sure that the location had adequate medical resources, including personnel and ambulances. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Officers to make the necessary preparations in advance and work closely together to ensure the celebration of Independence Day runs well.
