JAMMU: We need to ensure punctuality and foster initiative and ingenuity among the teaching staff for improvement in the education sector, said Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya while reviewing the status of the education sector in the district. He urged that ZEOs set targets in improving the overall academic performance of government schools in their jurisdiction. The entire system should make efforts for inculcating discipline and critical thinking among students, he underscored. The DC also took broad review of the condition of school infrastructure and areas requiring improvement in the education sector. The meeting was attended by ADDC Sher Singh, Chief Education Officer, J.K Padha, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh besides other concerned officers from the Education Department.
