DC Jammu felicitates officers with excellent performance

JAMMU: District Administration Jammu organised felicitation ceremony in the Conference Hall of DC Office, Jammu to celebrate the nationwide campaign “Meri Maati Mera Desh” and mark the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the eve of the 77th Independence Day in 2023. Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa presented appreciation certificates to various District/Sectoral Officers who have made significant contribution and exerted great effort.The District Good Governance Index 3.0 is a J&K government initiative to promote holistic development and to offer a solid framework for an evaluation of all the districts in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir’s performance in carrying out various government programmes and schemes that have been announced for the welfare of its residents. Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, CPO Jammu Yoginder Katoch, DSEO Jammu Rupinder Kaur, ACD Jammu Preeti Sharma, DSWO Mamta Rajput, SE Hydraulic Vivek Kohli, SE JPDCL Rajinder Gupta, and SE REW K.S. Nathyal were among those who received the appreciation certificates.ADC L&O Harvinder Singh, ACR Piysh Dhotra, and other officers were also present at the ceremony in addition to those mentioned above. Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner noted that Jammu District, which is dedicated to the welfare of ordinary people and continues to work on the front of development and implementation of various government initiatives, came out on top among all 20 Districts of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir under the District Good Governance Index (DGGI) 3.0.She commended the entire team of her office for meticulously carrying out this exercise of data collection, compilation, and analysis of data received from District/Sectoral offices for the 10 sectors, encompassing 58 indicators and 116 Data sets. She applauded the District Statistics & Evaluation Officer, Rupinder Kaur. The ranking of District Jammu was described by the deputy commissioner as a noteworthy accomplishment that had set the stage for future evidence-based planning.The district achieved the top spot in the Annual District Good Governance Index 3.0 for the year 2022–23, which is clearly indicative of conducting a gap analysis and keeping a real-time check on the outreach of various government initiatives to move the district’s overall rank from sixth in DGGI 2.0 to first in DGGI 3.0. She also commended all of the district/sectoral officers who had demonstrated remarkable achievement. The Deputy Commissioner praised the accomplishment and noted that Jammu District should be extremely proud of itself at this time because it has advanced in governance and reached new heights.The DC also commended not just one but all of the officers’ and their staff’s efforts for working diligently, devotionally, and methodically and pushed everyone to strive even more to keep their positions at the top.
