JAMMU: DC Jammu today convened a meeting here in the DC Office complex to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023.The session was attended by the ADC (L&O), Harvinder Singh, the ADC (Adm), Sandeep Seointra, the ACR, Piyush Dhotra, the SDMs, the Tehsildars, and other relevant authorities. The Deputy Commissioner began by reviewing the preparations made for pilgrims, particularly at registration counters.The Deputy Commissioner also assigned distinct responsibilities to SDMs designated as nodal officials at various registration counters to make sure that related departments completed all essential preparations for the Yatra’s seamless operation on time. The Chair was informed that pilgrims can register online, but there are also five counters set up for Tatkal registration of pilgrims, one each at Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Sabha, Panchayat Ghar, and two each at Geeta Bhawan and Ram Mandir for Sadhus.Additionally, it was mentioned that RIFD and e-KYC would be carried out at these counters, and a token counter had also been set up at Saraswati Dham for the purpose of crowd control and the distribution of pilgrims’ funds. The nodal personnel were instructed by the Deputy Commissioner to go to their respective counters and install the necessary amenities before June 25. In order to ensure that pilgrims had no issues while on the yatra, she also urged them to evaluate the facilities.
