JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya met with representatives from the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) today to examine the state of ration supply and distribution in the district. During the meeting, Assistant Directors, TSOs, and Inspectors were present. The DC stressed important aspects of the ration supply chain during the meeting, such as the demand for prompt distribution, the exclusive use of electronic weighing devices, biometric verification, issuing purchase receipts, getting rid of manual paperwork, and vigorously implementing the One Nation One Ration Card initiative. The DC stressed the importance of the ration distribution process for the general population while examining each phase in detail. The DC went over each beneficiary category’s status, including AAY, PHH, and NPHH. Regarding accusations of unfair practises such theft, adulteration, and underweighing, the DC expressed grave concern. He pledged to conduct surprise inspections, apply severe penalties, and pay particular attention to preserving accurate records. Fair practises must be maintained within each region of authority under the control of Tehsil Supply Officers and Inspectors. The DC also stressed the importance of teaching consumers about their rights in an effort to raise awareness among the general public.
