JAMMU: In a session held here today, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo oversaw a discussion with representatives and attendees from several Trade Bodies and Industry Associations in Jammu and Kashmir. Principal Secretary of Finance, Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, MD JKTPO, MD Handloom & Handicrafts, MD SIDCO, MD SICOP, MD AGRO, and other important stakeholders were also present at the interaction. Heads and delegates from various trade bodies and business associations addressed the Chief Secretary on a range of topics throughout the conversation. A number of topics were covered, including the extension of lease agreements, validity periods, GST revisions, power amnesty, turn-over incentives, marketing of tourist destinations in Jammu Division, incentives for local industries, guaranteeing a steady supply of electricity, the timely disposal of NoCs, the development of industrial estates with infrastructure, export-focused incentives for the handicraft sector, skill development, and the complete operationalization of the single window mechanism. The creation of a project clearance committee and the status of pending environmental permits for mining were also discussed.Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo listened to the concerns expressed by the representatives and gave them assurances that all issues discussed would be promptly resolved within a set time frame. The representatives also made insightful recommendations and suggested actions regarding various difficulties faced by the industry and trade in the Union Territory. He thanked them for their insightful comments and expressed hope that the meeting would provide a useful forum for resolving problems and overcoming any obstacles that the trade and industry stakeholders may encounter.
