SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah Friday said that consensus on majority of assembly seats of Jammu & Kashmir has been finalized with Congress, while as a decision on few is yet to be done.
“Out of 90 seats the consensus on most of the seats is done, while the agreement on few is yet to reach to its final conclusion. On some seats we are adamant on our side, while on few the local leaders of Congress are inflexible. Today we are going to meet again to discuss the issue and finalise the alliance,” Omar Abdullah told reporters after his party leader Sakina Itoo filed her nomination papers from Damhal Hanjipora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
On being asked when NC is going to announce candidates’ list like other political parties made public, he responded that no political party has yet announced list of candidates. “They only announced constituency incharge list. They are not those who have been given mandate to fight Assembly elections. While our constituency incharges are already in place from last ten years,” he said.
He said NC has made its manifesto public and hoped no manifesto will be better than our party. He at the occasion prayed for all those who are going to fight Assembly elections under the symbol of his party.
