SRINAGAR, Aug 5: LG Manoj Sinha Saturday said that after four years of the abrogation of Article 370, people of UT are living a peaceful live as ‘peaceful atmosphere prevails in the region’ while youth have got wings to fly on their choicest routes.The LG stated that everyone in J&K is now living in peace while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his visit to the KICC in Srinagar to hand out certificates to BSE-trained candidates, appointment letters to Anganwadi Workers, and special aids to people with disabilities. “Street protests, the 150-day annual shutdown of schools and universities, stone-throwing, and separatist are no longer practised. The LG stated that nowadays, teenagers are returning home late at night while playing a guitar and after spending time on the riverbank. On August 5, 2019, the Centre abolished the former J&K state’s special status and divided it into the UTs of Ladakh and J&K. “There was a period when folks could be seen hurrying home just after dark. People now spend time outdoors in parks and markets.
The biggest shift, according to him, can be seen in the way that people are now able to live freely after so many years. “Everyone is enjoying the quiet, and Pakistan-backed misinformation has failed on the ground. Even though this is just the beginning, I think this is the largest accomplishment,” he remarked.He claimed that as part of the mission youth, the J&K administration has partnered with the Mumbai Stock Exchange to give young people in the UT greater possibilities to succeed in a variety of sectors. “Hundreds of young people are determining their futures now. We have given young people a lot of opportunities to show off their abilities and excel in several disciplines, the LG remarked.
