SRINAGAR: The cabinet is likely to meet on Tuesday to take a final decision on several proposals, including a recommendation to the Lieutenant Governor for convening the autumn session of the Assembly.
Sources said that the cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is expected to meet tomorrow to propose a date to the LG for convening the autumn session of the Assembly.
The issues of statehood and reservation are likely to dominate proceedings in the House.
In the last Assembly session, three resolutions on statehood lapsed due to disruptions created by the National Conference following the rejection of the adjournment motion brought by their legislators on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
The issue of reservation also came up repeatedly during discussions in the House, with PC President and MLA from Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone, cornering the government over the matter.
The detention of MLA Doda, Mehraj Malik, and his assault during the last budget session could also come up for discussion.
