GULMARG: The Chinar Warriors came to the aid of up to 61 tourists who were stranded at Gulmarg in northern Kashmir on Saturday, December 16. Following nonstop snowfall in the region on Saturday, the tourists—including women and children—were stranded. The Indian Army released a press release stating that the tourists became stranded due to the drop in temperature caused by the snowfall. To lessen their suffering, the Army jawans gave them sleeping bags, heating equipment, and hot meals. J&K’s Gulmarg is a well-known tourist destination throughout the world. The area was transformed into a wintry paradise on Saturday following another round of snowfall. Numerous roads in the area were reportedly blocked by the snowfall, making life more difficult for the locals.However, the Chinar Warriors have previously assisted the valley’s inhabitants. The group planned a medical camp at Taratpora and Ramhall on Saturday. In order to save lives and property on Friday, the group assisted the fire department in putting out the fire in the Manasbal neighbourhood of Kashmir’s Bazipore area. The Chinar Warriors are members of the Chinar Corps, the XC Corps of the Indian Army. They oversee military operations in the Kashmir Valley and have participated in all military confrontations with China and Pakistan, their neighbours.
