SAMBA: By apprehending the gang leader of the cattle lifers, recovering stolen cattle, and seizing the vehicle used in the cattle thefts, the Samba police made significant progress. An investigation is currently underway into a case filed at the Purmandal police station under Sections 380 (Theft in house) and 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Hamid Din, a Kheri resident in Bishnah, Jammu district, has been identified as the arrested kingpin. “The hardcore accused was arrested by the police team comprising Purmandal SHO Vijay Verma under the supervision of Bari Brahmana SDPO Rahul Nagar and Samba Additional SP Surinder Choudhary,” stated a police spokesperson. In order to prevent animal abuse at the hands of cattle lifters and bovine smugglers, Samba SSP Benam Tosh urged the public to keep domestic animals in safe and secure locations.
