NEW DELHI: Dilip Mahadu Gavit won a gold medal on Saturday, marking the 100th medal won by Indian para-athletes at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou. In the Men's 400m T47 event, Gavit took home the gold medal. With a great run time of 49.48 seconds, he won the coveted gold. This is the Indian para contingent's most successful Para Asian Games campaign to date, having won 100 medals for the first time. India has claimed 26 gold, 29 silver, and 45 bronze medals as of the publication of this article. What makes this achievement at the current 4th Asian Para Games so remarkable is that India's para-athletes have exceeded the 100-medal mark in the Asian Games.The best medal haul for the nation was at the Jakarta 2018 Para Games.
