EC : Polls In J&K Will Be Held At ‘Right Time’ Keeping Security Situation In Mind

New Delhi, Oct 9: The Election Commission announced on Monday that elections in Jammu and Kashmir would take place at the "right time" while taking into account the local security situation. This was said by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar during a news conference to reveal the dates for the assembly elections in five states. According to him, the polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held when the commission determines it is the "right time" in light of the local elections already taking place and the security situation.A different question was addressed to Kumar, who responded that announcements of freebies usually have the "tadka" of populism and that the general public has a right to know where the freebies will come from. The Election Commission announced that voting will take place in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram on various dates from November 7 to 30. Votes for the five states will be tallied on December 3, setting the stage for the 2024 Lok Sabha election semifinals. Congress, NC sweep LAHDC-Kargil polls, win 22 seats

KARGIL: Officials announced on Sunday that the National Conference and the Congress had won a total of 22 seats in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil poll. The first election after Ladakh was divided into a Union Territory as a result of the repeal of Article 370 of the Constitution was held for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil. On October 4, elections for 26 council seats were held. Four voting members are proposed by the administration for the 30-member council. The National Conference (NC), which is now the single-largest party, got 12 seats, according to the officials, while its ally Congress won 10 seats. According to them, the BJP won two seats and two Independent candidates also won.74,026 of the 95,388 eligible voters cast ballots in the election, yielding a 77.61 percent turnout. On October 1, the current council, led by NC representative Feroz Ahmad Khan, finished its five-year term. Before October 11, the new council will be in place. Despite announcing a pre-election cooperation, the NC and Congress only fielded 17 and 22 candidates, respectively. Both parties claimed that the agreement was only applicable to regions where the BJP was a formidable opponent. The BJP ran 17 candidates this time around, up from the previous election when it won one seat and eventually added two PDP councillors to bring its total to three.Along with 25 Independents, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tried its luck for four seats. There is no reason India cannot take back ‘Sindh’: Yogi

LUCKNOW: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated on Sunday that there is no reason why we cannot reclaim "Sindhu," or the Sindh province, which is currently part of Pakistan, if Shri Ram Janmabhoomi could be returned after 500 years. NEW DELHI, Oct 8: According to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, taking the Class 10 and 12 board exams twice a year would not be required of pupils, and the option is being offered to lessen stress brought on by the worry over missing out on a chance. Mr. Pradhan claimed in an interview with that the issue of "dummy schools" cannot be disregarded and that a serious conversation is now necessary. "Like the JEE engineering entrance test, students would have the option of taking the [Class 10 and 12 board] exams twice a year. They are free to select the highest score, but there will be no pressure to do so. "Students frequently feel stressed out because they believe they lost a year, missed their chance, or could have done better... According to Mr. Pradhan, the option is being introduced to lessen the stress brought on by the dread of missing a chance. "Any student may decide not to take the following tests if he feels fully prepared and satisfied with his performance on the first set of exams. Nothing will be required, he continued. Board exams will be given twice a year, in accordance with the New Curriculum Framework (NCF), which was introduced by the Ministry of Education in August, to give students the best chance to do well and retain the highest grade. The idea to have board exams twice a year has gotten strong feedback from students, according to Mr. Pradhan. "After the New Curriculum Framework [NCF] was declared, I met students. This has been acknowledged, and they approve of the concept. We are attempting to have the tests held twice a year beginning in 2024, he said. When questioned about the unprecedented number of student suicides in Kota, Rajasthan, the Minister responded, "It is a very delicate topic. No one should perish because those are our kids. Our shared duty is to make sure the students are not stressed. Every year, more than two lakh students relocate to Kota to study for competitive tests like the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for medical school entrance and the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for engineering. The number of suicides among students in Kota this year was 23, which is a record for the nation's coaching centre. The amount was 15 the previous year. The issue of "dummy schools" needs to be seriously discussed, according to Mr. Pradhan. "The problem cannot be disregarded. Even while the proportion of such students to all students is not particularly high... The requirements of today's educational system have changed. CABE needs to be redesigned at a time when the new National Education Policy is causing a paradigm shift. "At the end of the day, CABE will review what is being introduced now, whether it be new curriculum, new credit framework, accreditation, or any other reform," he stated.
