Govt indulging in distraction politics on Adani issue: Rahul Gandhi on Apple alert

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday that Apple had warned him and other opposition leaders and members of his office that state-sponsored hackers were aiming for their phones. He also said that snooping and investigation agencies are brought in as soon as the Adani issue is brought up. In relation to the Adani issue, he also claimed that the government was engaging in "distraction politics". Gandhi displayed a copy of the email that the manufacturer of Apple phones sent to a number of opposition leaders warning them about "state-sponsored attackers trying to compromise" their phones during a news conference.Party chiefs like Pawan Khera, Supriya Shrinate, K C Venugopal, and a number of other opposition leaders, he claimed, had received the Apple warning. "We don't feel afraid. I don't mind if you tap on the phone as much as you like. I will give you my phone if you would want to have it," he said. "The hierarchy in the country is No. 1 - Adani, no. 2 Prime Minister Narendra Modi and no. 3 Amit Shah," he said. Gandhi made his point by recounting an old story. He said that there once was an Indian monarch who was attacked and resisted by the people, but he was unaffected by anything and held firm. "We keep attacking the king, people are against him, but nothing happens," the opposition people stated to a rishi after a few years. Gandhi stated, "The king's soul is not with him; it is in a parrot that lives in a little cottage," according to Rishi. "Adani has the soul of Narendra Modi. The fact is that power is not with you. Intelligence organisations start spying on people as soon as they come into contact with Adani," he claimed. Adani is encircled by us, so he cannot flee. Distraction politics are happening," he declared. On Tuesday, a few opposition figures shared the alleged screenshots on their X accounts, claiming to have received warnings from Apple alerting them to "state-sponsored attackers trying to remotely compromise" their iPhones. The message from Apple on X was posted by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Mahua Moitra of the Trinamool Congress, Raghav Chadha of the Aam Aadmi Party, Shashi Tharoor of the Congress, and Pawan Khera, head of his party's media and publicity department. Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the CPI(M), too got a similar communication. contacted Apple for a reaction on the issue, but they did not receive one right away. "I got a text and email from Apple alerting me to the possibility that the government is attempting to access my email and phone. @HMOIndia obtain a life. I feel sorry for you because of Adani and PMO's bullying; I shared the screenshots with Moitra. "ALERT: State-sponsored attackers may be targeting your iPhone," read the warning that the MPs posted. According to Apple, state-sponsored attackers are attempting to remotely compromise the iPhone linked to your Apple ID. Because of who you are or what you do, these attackers are probably specifically aiming their attacks at you. A state-sponsored attacker may be able to remotely view your private information, conversations, and even the camera and microphone if they manage to breach your smartphone. It said, "Please take this warning seriously, even though it may be a false alarm. Amit Malviya of the BJP responded to the opposition leaders by writing on X, saying, "It's all well and good for regular suspects to stir up a ruckus over a'state sponsored' attack and act like martyrs. However, this whole mess will probably end up as damp squib, just like it has in the past!"Why not hold off till Apple provides clarification? Or is it too much to pass up the chance to infuriate?" All is not well with I.N.D.I.A bloc : Omar

SRINAGAR: Amidst a dispute between the Congress and Samajwadi Party on seat distribution in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Omar Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, stated on Monday that the circumstances within the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc were concerning. "Not everything is good in the I.N.D.I.A alliance. There are some unnecessary internal disputes to be seen, particularly in the five states where elections are being held. We have witnessed the ongoing conflict between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress. Both have declared their intention to run for every seat in the UP. The INIDIA alliance will not benefit from this.Perhaps after these state elections, we will get together once more and attempt to collaborate," Abdullah told reporters in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir. When asked if he had said anything negative about members of the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) criticising one another, Abdullah said that he had not. "I have not made any statements. Despite the fact that we have been targeted for the previous few months, I have not targeted any of my pals. However, it's also true that I haven't attempted to stop my colleague for the first time," he stated. At a party event last week, Abdullah made obvious reference to PDP leaders' criticism of the National Conference by stating that his party had plenty to discuss if it were to discuss raking up the past. "We have a lot on our minds. We don't need to go back that far; we only need to go back three or four years since they have been causing problems for the previous thirty years," he continued. In response to the BJP's assertion that the circumstances in Kashmir were typical, the former chief minister questioned why, in the event that the conditions were typical, there were no elections in Jammu and Kashmir. "Why are elections not held if everything is as it should be? What's the justification? In Srinagar, a police officer was fired at during the day just ago. We now know that there has been an incident in Pulwama." "We had eradicated militancy from Rajouri, but there is still an encounter or incident there every ten or every week. "Let it be if this is a typical scenario," he uttered. Abdullah stated that people are excitedly awaiting the assembly elections when questioned about the J&K elections. However, there's no sign that these elections will take place anytime soon. They have to hold parliamentary elections, but as to whether they will do so or not, maybe only two people in the nation are aware of this, and they haven't discussed it with me," he continued. UP Man Shot Dead By Terrorists In Pulwama

SRINAGAR: Terrorists shot and killed an Uttar Pradesh worker in Pulwama district on Monday, one day after they targeted a police officer, according to officials. In a post on X, a police spokesman stated, "Terrorists fired upon one labourer identified as Mukesh of UP in Tumchi Nowpora area of Pulwama, who later succumbed to injuries."According to him, the location has been sealed off, and the terrorists responsible for the laborer's death are being sought out. Terrorists shot and seriously injured police inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani at the Eidgah ground in the city when he was playing cricket with neighbourhood boys. This was the second terror strike in the Kashmir Valley in less than 24 hours. In the wake of the two terror incidents, security has been stepped up throughout the Kashmir Valley, particularly in Srinagar and south Kashmir areas, according to the officials. Following the attack on Inspector Wani, the security forces have increased their scrutiny of cars and pedestrians in various areas of Srinagar and other towns, particularly in the Pulwama district in south Kashmir, according to the officials.They stated that there are now mobile car checks at all of Srinagar's main junctions and the city's exits. A number of political figures have denounced the assault on the labourer and the police officer in the meantime. Ghulam Nabi Azad, the head of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and a former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, has vehemently denounced the deliberate killing of an outside labourer in Pulwama. Leader of the People's Conference Sajad Lone warned that violence had returned even though he condemned the attacks. The curse of violence has returned. The killing of a worker in Pulwama today and the senseless cruel attack on a police officer yesterday show how desperate these vicious thugs are," Lone wrote on X.The leader of the Apni Party, Altaf Bukahri, expressed his deep resentment at the killing of an innocent non-local in Pulwama district in a post on X. The killing is completely pointless and will benefit no one. I hope the police find the offenders quickly so they can be held accountable for their actions. "A man was killed, and it doesn't really matter if the victim lived nearby or somewhere else in the nation. On the fringes of a Jammu party celebration, Bukhari declared, "We condemn the loss of an innocent life." According to him, there is no excuse for the brutality. The former minister declared, "The Apni Party will continue to highlight the public issues for peace and development in J&K. The Centre is the source of problem solutions." In addition, Bukhari voiced worry about the recent ceasefire breaches in the Jammu area of Arnia along the International Border, claiming they are an attempt to disturb the tranquil environment. "We will keep fighting to keep this place peaceful because the people of J&K want peace," he declared. In order for the civilian population to use the community bunkers during the cross-border shelling, he also requested that the government build more of them and ensure that they are adequately maintained.
