JAMMU: On the occasion of Maharaja Gulab Singh's 231st birthday, Dr. Karan Singh, a former Sadar-e-Riyasat and scion of the former Royal Dogra family, paid heartfelt homage to the man. At a celebration held by the Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust at Amar Mahal to mark the occasion, Dr. Karan Singh emphasised the importance of reexamining the life and accomplishments of Maharaja Gulab Singh. DC Srinagar inspects progress of works of SDH Hazratbal, Multi-Level Car Parking Hazratbal,Additional Block of JLNM Hospital

SRINAGAR: The 50-bed Sub District Hospital in Hazratbal, the multi-level car parking complex in Hazratbal, the additional block of the JLNM Hospital Rainawari, and other development projects in the district were among the major developmental projects that the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz Asad, visited on Saturday. The Chief Planning Officer of Srinagar, the Superintending Engineer of R&B, the Block Medical Officer of Hazratbal, the Executive Engineers of R&B, the Officers of the JKPCC, the JK Housing Board, and other relevant parties joined the Deputy Commissioner during the visit. The Deputy Commissioner was informed during his inspection of the status of the 50-bed Sub District Hospital Project at Hazratbal that the first phase of the project's construction on the plinth and basement is ongoing at a cost of Rs 14.73 Crore. DDC calls for efficient delivery under HADP

SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad stated here on Saturday that although the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is "normal," the ongoing delay in holding assembly elections is a cause for "grave concern." Speaking at a public gathering in Batamaloo, Azad stated that although the current state of affairs has "not been more normal in the last 30-35 years" than it is, this may be the first instance in J-K's history when assembly elections have not been held in such a lengthy period of time.Elections were held after five to six years, according to Azad, "when the situation was bad in J-K, there was bloodshed and leaders left the Valley, Kashmiri Pandits left the Valley." "However, elections have not been held in the last nine years despite the fact that the situation is normal today and has not been more normal than this in the previous thirty to thirty-five years." CS inspects execution of SSCL works along Dal & Jhelum

SRINAGAR: Today, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta toured the whole city of Srinagar to examine the various projects being undertaken by Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) at Zero Bridge, Foreshore Road, Nishat, Shalimar, and Nishat. Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri of Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Aijaz Asad of Srinagar, VC LCMA, officers from SSCL, R&B and other departments joined him. Chief Secretary instructed responsible parties to finish the outstanding work, including the seating arrangements, by October 31st in order to prepare the recreational Multi Utility Zone for public use, while on site inspecting Sunset Point (Dal Lake).Dr. Mehta also went to Nishat, where he examined the parking lot's tiling job in addition to painting the walkway that borders Dal Lake. He gave the SSCL officers instructions to finish the project by October 31 because continuous development was taking up the majority of the current working season. "In the first phase, smart metres are being installed in Srinagar and Jammu," he stated. According to him, J&K purchases power for about Rs. 10 per unit, but provides it to clients who fall below the poverty line for Rs. 1.25 per unit. "There is already a huge subsidy, but you all know how much money comes from the billing," he stated. According to Sinha, the Union Cabinet made a crucial decision this week when it approved the interstate transmission system for the 13 GW renewable energy project in Ladakh, which is part of the green energy corridor phase two project. "The transmission line for evacuating power will run through Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to Kaithal in Haryana, integrating with the National Grid and interconnection to Ladakh's existing grid and the 220kV Alusteng Grid in Ganderbal district of Kashmir through Leh-Alusteng-Srinagar line, to provide power to J&K," he stated. "It is certain that the power transfer from Ladakh will positively impact the entire Kashmir valley, improving power availability round the year, especially during power deficit winter months," he stated. According to him, the power situation in the Jammu region would also improve because there will be a proportionate decrease in the amount of power sent to Kashmir from the 400kV Kishanpur and Jatwal central sector grids located in Jammu. "This reduction will free up tied capacity at these grids, thereby improving availability in Jammu throughout the year," he stated. "The power supply from the said BESS-supported renewable energy generator, located near Kashmir, will mitigate the low voltage conditions experienced during winters in the valley due to the decrease in hydro generation," he stated. The project is expected to cost Rs 20,773.70 crore in total and be operational by the 2029–2030 fiscal year. The Central government would provide Rs 8309.48 crore, or 40% of the project's total cost, in financial aid. The LG stated that all preparations for winter readiness have been finished."Stock of essentials including ration, wheat, LPG cylinders and medicines are being stocked ahead of winter," he stated. Enrollment for the painting, photography, videography, and essay writing competitions with the theme "Badalta Jammu & Kashmir, Badhta Jammu & Kashmir- Amanaur Taraqqikinayi Tasveer" is open till the 28th of the current month.For both age groups above and below 18, there are monetary incentives of Rs 30,000 per category. Once at http://jk.mygov.in, the MyGov portal can be used to register. Additionally, the portal gives users the option to upload selfies until this month's 31st. The IT Department has created a unique frame just for the Foundation Day celebration. In order to receive an online certificate for the four years that J&K has been a UT, citizens are encouraged to take selfies with any changes that have occurred in their surroundings. Regarding the prizes, it was disclosed that the winners of each competition would receive cash rewards of Rs. 10,000 for first place, Rs. 8,000 for second place, and Rs. 5,000 for third place in both the age groups of 18 and under. Additionally, the Department will give two consolation awards of Rs 3500 to each citizen who competes in each category on UT Foundation Day. The Chief Secretary urged the officers to give as many citizens as possible the opportunity to participate in these events, including schoolchildren, athletes, the elderly, and other professionals or public servants.According to him, the remarkable change that has occurred over the last four years represents a shift in authority away from the Civil Secretariat's corridors and towards the people. He noted that this administration's hallmarks have been accountability and transparency in all of its actions. Dr. Mehta went on to say that by considering public feedback and integrating it into all government policies, the people have been put in charge. He stressed that everyone is personally aware of the revolutionary jump that has been made in both public infrastructure and G2C services. He urged people to take advantage of this chance to share their thoughts on the changes they have seen in this time. He reaffirmed the importance of approaching people and the need to include them in the tide of advancement and growth.
