AC approves creation of separate ‘Jammu and Kashmir Sports Cadre’

SRINAGAR: The creation of the "Jammu and Kashmir Sports cadre" and the creation of 235 positions to be used for the appointment of outstanding athletes, including 10 Gazetted Posts, were approved by the Administrative Council (AC), which convened here under the chairmanship of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha. The conference was attended by Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K.With this choice, the selection procedure for excellent athletes will get under way. For the previous few years, this process has been complicated by different legal and procedural concerns. The new regulations were developed with the intention of inspiring young people to participate in sports and supporting athletes who excel. Gadkari : Govt not planning to levy any tax on diesel vehicles

NEW DELHI:Union minister Nitin Gadkari sought to explain his comments regarding the taxation of diesel vehicles on Thursday, adding that there is no proposal to do so. Instead, he intended to urge automakers to take action to reduce pollution. The road, transport, and highway minister's comments earlier this week about the need to impose a 10% tax on diesel-powered vehicles in order to assist reduce emissions had caused a lot of controversy. Gadkari said to news channel, "I am not against diesel fuel, and we are not going to collect any tax on diesel automobiles. According to the minister of highways and road transport, diesel is extremely dangerous for the environment and is seriously harming the nation's health.Gadkari emphasised that he is not against any one business and added that the government currently offers incentives for electric automobiles. "My advice to the industry is to focus on alternative fuel as the best method to (reduce pollution)," he stated. Speaking on September 12 at the SIAM annual conference, Gadkari cautioned that rising pollution levels pose a serious threat to public health and that increased taxes may be required to deter the sale of diesel cars. DIG holds a meeting to review enforcement of traffic rules

JAMMU: DIG Traffic Shridhar Patil convened a gathering of Range Traffic police officers to assess the traffic situation in Jammu. The DIG began the conference by congratulating the officers for their exceptional performance in completing the Shri Amarnath Ji, Shri Budda Amarnath Ji, and Machail Mata yatras successfully under difficult circumstances. The senior officer conducted a thorough examination of how police personnel enforced traffic laws and gave rewards to those who continued to do so admirably throughout the month of August. Patil emphasised the need to pay special attention to the 13 main traffic infractions listed below since they were serious problems that endangered public safety and inconvenienced people.Overspeeding/dangerous driving, without wearing a crash helmet, using a mobile while driving, driving while intoxicated, driving when underage, incorrect parking, running red lights, overloading a goods carrier or a passenger, riding triple, HSRP, etc. For each black spot that is prone to accidents, he asked the SSP of the traffic police range in Jammu to form Accident Response Teams (ARTs) in their respective areas. LG inaugurates 2-day Workshop on strengthening Child Protection System & Mechanism in UT of J&K

SRINAGAR: The two-day workshop for Sensitization/Training workshops for representatives of PRIs, ULBs, Police, and other stakeholders to strengthen the Child Protection System and Mechanism in the UT of Jammu Kashmir was opened by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The Women and Child Development Ministry of the Government of India is launching this campaign for the first time in the nation. The Lt. Governor thanked the Ministry of Women and Child Development in his speech and praised the Social Welfare Department for their creative plan to hold a training session for 15,000 people in 2023–2024. He claimed that the training programme is evidence of the university administration's dedication to ensuring children have happy childhoods and a nurturing environment that allows them to reach their full potential. "Our children did not have the childhood they deserved for many years. They were misled by those who profit from armed conflict and were given stones. Our youngsters now carry laptops and tablets and are helping to create the country because we have destroyed that ecosystem, the Lt. Governor stated. The Lt. Governor stressed the importance of giving homes to youngsters living in institutions and on the streets while addressing the first session. The Lt. The Lt. Governor also urged youth clubs, NGOs, seniors in the community, religious leaders, and public officials to join the fight against the drug epidemic. New Delhi, Sep 14: The Supreme Court will soon be connected to the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), a database of information about the number of cases pending and the success rate of courts from the local level to the national level, according to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud's announcement on Thursday. The service currently only displays data up to the high court level. The CJI said that data from the top court would be uploaded to the NJDG in real time as the day's proceedings in the apex court got underway."Just a quick announcement. The day is historic. The NIC and the Supreme Court's internal staff created this distinctive and educational platform. You can now examine real-time data on the status of cases year by year, the total number of registered and unregistered cases still pending, and the total number of cases determined by quorum, according to the CJI. JAMMU: Today, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar went over the Industries & Commerce Department's land-related difficulties and the creation of Industrial Estates in the Districts. The Div Com examined in depth the impediments faced by the stakeholder Departments and the land acquisition for industrial estates in the districts of Kathua, Samba, Jammu, and Udhampur. Inderjeet Singh, MD of SIDCO/SICOP, Shivanant Tayal, MD of JPDCL, Chief Conservator of Forest, B Mohan Dass, Regional Director Pollution Control Board, Sat Paul, Chief Engineers of JPDCL, Assistant Commissioner Central, Angrej Singh, Director Industries, Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Udhampur, as well as other concerned officers, all attended the meeting in person.In addition to the progress made in settling the land-related concerns of the Industries Department that were still pending in the districts, flimsy discussions were conducted regarding the expansion of current estates and the establishment of new estates. The involved Deputy Commissioner informed the Div Com of each case's current status. It was advised that the most of the problems had been fixed and that those still outstanding will be soon.
