DDC calls for efficient delivery under HADP

JAMMU: Given that India's agriculture is a significant economic sector, it is important that we make coordinated efforts to advance it. In today's meeting to assess the district's performance of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, the district development commissioner, emphasised the value of agriculture in India. During the discussion, the DDC emphasised that in order to enhance the lives of families who depend on agriculture, officials must carefully implement sector-specific programmes. He underlined that benefits under the HADP and other government programmes should be distributed fairly. Representatives from the departments of horticulture, fisheries, sheep husbandry, and animal husbandry gave information on the state of the programmes pertaining to their respective disciplines.The Animal Husbandry department covered the topics of subsidies, operational difficulties, and the approval procedures for programmes such as the Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme and the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme in relation to the livestock and poultry industries. The department of Sheep Husbandry talked about programmes including Pashu Sakhi, MAITRI, Rashtriya Gokul Mission, National Animal Disease Control Programme, and Integrated Poultry Development Programme. The DDC recommended promoting Pashu Sakhi and giving women priority when it comes to benefits. He also emphasised the importance of making sure that government programmes benefit the most worthy individuals.The production of mutton, wool, and pelt, as well as processing and assistance for Farmers Producer Organisations and Self Help Groups, were also discussed during the meeting. Initiatives including the Mini Feed Mill, Bio Floc Unit, Backyard Mini Recirculating Aquaculture System, and Carp Unit Construction were discussed by the Fisheries department. SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad stated here on Saturday that although the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is "normal," the ongoing delay in holding assembly elections is a cause for "grave concern." Speaking at a public gathering in Batamaloo, Azad stated that although the current state of affairs has "not been more normal in the last 30-35 years" than it is, this may be the first instance in J-K's history when assembly elections have not been held in such a lengthy period of time.Elections were held after five to six years, according to Azad, "when the situation was bad in J-K, there was bloodshed and leaders left the Valley, Kashmiri Pandits left the Valley." "However, elections have not been held in the last nine years despite the fact that the situation is normal today and has not been more normal than this in the previous thirty to thirty-five years." The head of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) and a former congressman expressed significant worry over this. He stated, "If MLAs are appointed secretaries, they will delete the files in a single day.Subsequently, in an interview with reporters, the chairman of the DPAP stated that his party has consistently insisted for assembly elections since only lawmakers are able to adequately represent the people. "The secretariat would suffer if the officers operate like MLAs, notwithstanding their intelligence and goodness. Thus, the MLA election ought to happen," he declared. CS inspects execution of SSCL works along Dal & Jhelum

SRINAGAR: Today, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta toured the whole city of Srinagar to examine the various projects being undertaken by Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) at Zero Bridge, Foreshore Road, Nishat, Shalimar, and Nishat. Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri of Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Aijaz Asad of Srinagar, VC LCMA, officers from SSCL, R&B and other departments joined him. Chief Secretary instructed responsible parties to finish the outstanding work, including the seating arrangements, by October 31st in order to prepare the recreational Multi Utility Zone for public use, while on site inspecting Sunset Point (Dal Lake).Dr. Mehta also went to Nishat, where he examined the parking lot's tiling job in addition to painting the walkway that borders Dal Lake. He gave the SSCL officers instructions to finish the project by October 31 because continuous development was taking up the majority of the current working season. During his visit to Shalimar, he gave the order to have the electric poles in the centre of the major road removed and to make the road's median more attractive. "It is certain that the power transfer from Ladakh will positively impact the entire Kashmir valley, improving power availability round the year, especially during power deficit winter months," he stated. According to him, the power situation in the Jammu region would also improve because there will be a proportionate decrease in the amount of power sent to Kashmir from the 400kV Kishanpur and Jatwal central sector grids located in Jammu. "This reduction will free up tied capacity at these grids, thereby improving availability in Jammu throughout the year," he stated. "The power supply from the said BESS-supported renewable energy generator, located near Kashmir, will mitigate the low voltage conditions experienced during winters in the valley due to the decrease in hydro generation," he stated. The project is expected to cost Rs 20,773.70 crore in total and be operational by the 2029–2030 fiscal year. The Central government would provide Rs 8309.48 crore, or 40% of the project's total cost, in financial aid. The LG stated that all preparations for winter readiness have been finished."Stock of essentials including ration, wheat, LPG cylinders and medicines are being stocked ahead of winter," he stated. JAMMU: Veteran Congress leader Karan Singh claimed on Friday that elections are the only way to restore the vital connection that Jammu and Kashmir's people have with their government. SAHIBABAD Oct 20: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi rode aboard a "Namo Bharat" train that was operating on the 17-kilometer priority segment of the nation's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) track. To commemorate the opening of the RRTS in India, Modi waved the green flag to the train that ran between the Sahibabad and Duhai Depot stations. LG, Union Railway Minister Launch much-awaited Vistadome train services in Kashmir
