Congress, PDP Protest Against Power Crisis In Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 23: Leaders and members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) protested against the electricity crisis in Kashmir on Thursday outside the party office, according to officials. Leading the PDP workers were Asiea Naqash, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, and Arif Laigroo. They attempted to protest the valley's lack of electricity at the start of the long winter season by marching from the PDP office near Sher-e-Kashmir Park here to Lal Chowk. Still, a posse of police officers stopped the demonstrators from marching past the nearby General Post Office (GPO) with signs and posters calling for an end to power outages. "Today's protest by PDP leaders and workers from Srinagar awoke the administration from a deep sleep." The escalating power crisis has brought darkness to Kashmir, according to PDP spokesman Mohit Bhan. "The J-K administration's incompetence is evident, and the residents are going through unending hardships. The people in charge don't seem to be aware that basic needs have been compromised, Bhan continued. Police stopped Pradesh Congress Committee employees from leaving their party office when they attempted to stage a protest against the power outage at Maulana Azad Road here. One of the demonstrators remarked, "Even hospitals lack electricity while they (officials) are spending money on driving around the town." BJP will form next Govt in Rajasthan: Shah

RAJASTHAN: On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the BJP would form the state's next government and that the Congress would lose in every area of Rajasthan. He claimed that the state's Congress government was engaging in appeasement politics and that this was deeply concerning to the populace. The senior BJP leader stated, "Appeasement politics is at its peak in the Gehlot government," during a press conference held here. Vote bank politics prevented the Rajasthani government from taking any action against the rioters. He questioned, "Ashok Gehlot does not have any guarantee of his own, what guarantee is he giving?" in response to the Rajasthan chief minister's seven promises. Shah cited the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the repeal of Article 370 as examples of how the BJP has a history of carrying out the most stringent resolutions. In response to the question of whether the chief minister of Rajasthan will be chosen by the MLAs, he stated that the MLAs would make that determination. Regarding Rahul Gandhi's 'panauti' jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah stated that derogatory language has been directed at the PM and that the electorate will react to it in the coming election. “Not guilty until proven”: Omar on dismissal of 4 govt employees in J&K

BUDGAM: Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, stated on Wednesday that the four government employees who were fired in Jammu and Kashmir for the "interest of the security of the state" had the right to appeal. He also mentioned that the legal principle of innocence holds that an accused person is presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty. "The ability to appeal should be granted to fired employees. Everyone is entitled to an appeal and, according to the law, is innocent unless and until proven guilty." Speaking to reporters in Budgam, Abdullah stated. The "interest of the security of the state" led the Jammu and Kashmir administration to terminate the employment of four public servants, including a doctor.According to the order, it is not necessary to hold an inquiry in each of these cases for the sake of the state's security, according to the Commissioner/Secretary of the General Administration Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. "Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, after considering the facts and circumstances of these individual cases and on the basis of the information available, is satisfied that the activities of the following persons are such as to warrant their dismissal from their service," the order reads. The four government employees are Dr. Nissar-ul-Hassan, Assistant Professor (Medicine), SMHS Hospital, Srinagar; Abdul Majeed Bhat, a constable in the Jammu and Kashmir police; Farooq Ahmad Mir, a teacher in the Higher Education Department; and Abdul Salam Rather, a laboratory bearer in the Higher Education Department. The government has invoked 311 (2) (c) of the Indian Constitution to dismiss the four employees. The directive that was issued on November 21 will go into effect right away. The four government officers were fired in accordance with J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's "zero tolerance against terrorism" policy.Three state workers were fired by the Jammu and Kashmir government in July for allegedly having ties to terrorist groups supported by Pakistan. The Union Territory administration has fired over 50 workers who were receiving government salaries but were purportedly supporting terrorist organisations with a base in Pakistan over the past three years by invoking 311 (2)(c) of the Constitution. J&K Admin Considering Winter Vacation For Schools In View Of Cold Wave

JAMMU, Nov 22: In light of the minimum temperatures falling below the freezing point over the past three days, the Jammu and Kashmir administration is "seriously" considering winter vacation for schools in the valley, a senior official stated on Wednesday. We are seriously considering it, but I can't say anything until an official announcement is made (winter vacations). Divisional Commissioner for Kashmir, V K Bhiduri, told reporters in this location that a proposal has been submitted in this regard (to the administration). According to Bhiduri, the administration can easily announce winter breaks, but it also needs to make sure that students don't suffer academically."We must strike a balance between both. The school year is scheduled, and there are a number of factors to consider, including board exams. The government is thinking about this issue (winter vacation) because of the changes in the weather. In a day or two, there will be a formal announcement, he stated. The officials stated that based on previous experience, schools will probably close gradually. It's possible that we won't end every class at once. Perhaps the closure of elementary, middle, and senior secondary classes will come first. The primary classes will probably only run through this week's end, he said.The mercury is plunging in Srinagar, where the minimum temperature last night was minus 1.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal for this time of year. The minimum temperature in the Kashmir valley has dropped dramatically since Sunday night. When kids get up to go to school, there has been a lot of fog during the past three days. In response to a question about whether the government has ordered educational institutions to arrange for heating, Bhiduri stated that schools have been made aware of the necessity for this.Since some schools have adequate heating systems and some don't, we are unable to provide general instructions. But we have made the schools more aware of the problem," he stated. Because of the valley's cold wave conditions, the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir has requested that the government take into consideration declaring winter vacations for lower grades.
