New Delhi, Dec 14: Derek O'Brien, a member of the TMC, was suspended on Thursday for the remainder of the Winter Session from the Rajya Sabha due to his "misconduct" and "unruly behaviour" in the House. Following an initial adjournment, the House met at noon, and Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar called O'Brien forward, cautioning him against interfering with the proceedings and raising slogans in complete disobedience to the Chair's instructions. O'Brien was called out by the Chairman earlier in the morning for his "unruly behaviour" and was asked to leave the House. LS Security Breach | Govt Says High-Level Inquiry Initiated, Asks Opposition Not To Politicise Issue

New Delhi, Dec 14: The government requested that the opposition refrain from politicising the Lok Sabha security breach incident on Thursday, claiming that a high-level investigation has been launched into the incident. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi stated in a statement shortly after the House met at 2:00 PM that "we all agree" that the regrettable incident on Wednesday was a serious one involving the safety and security of MPs. Joshi pointed out that after the incident, Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla met with floor leaders right away to hear their recommendations for bolstering Parliament security.He pointed out that the Speaker himself had said that more steps will be taken in the future to fortify Parliament security, and that some of the recommendations made by the MPs had already been put into practice. Joshi stated, "This is a matter that affects all of us, and we must speak with one voice." The minister claimed that no one should be expected to engage in politics on such a serious national issue. Joshi also enumerated previous instances of security breaches in Parliament, pointing out that incidents like yelling slogans, tossing papers, and leaping from the gallery have occurred historically.The minister told the House that a high-level investigation has already started, as per the Speaker's letter to the Home Secretary. Joshi added that some members have developed the habit of politicising every topic. He said, "I ask that they not make this a political issue." On Wednesday, two individuals leaped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, yelling slogans and releasing coloured smoke from canisters, which caused panic and mayhem in the House.Birla had commanded a high-level investigation into the event shortly after the security breech on Wednesday. In response to a request from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ordered an investigation into the incident involving the security breach in Parliament on Wednesday. NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to bring up the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha for discussion and eventual passing on Thursday, the day the Parliament meets for the eleventh day of the current Winter Session. The goal of the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2023 is to give women's seats in the Puducherry Assembly a 33 percent reservation. On Tuesday, the Lok Sabha already passed the legislation. The Home Minister will also introduce the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023, which aims to reserve 33% of the assembly's seats for women, according to the agenda that was made public.On Tuesday, the Lok Sabha already passed the legislation. Two appropriation bills, the Appropriation (No. 3) Bill, 2023 and the Appropriation (No. 4) Bill, 2023, will be moved by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. JAMMU: Following the Election Commission of India's approval of the name change, Chief Advocate Ankur Sharma of the Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal declared that the party was prepared to run in all States and Union Territories for the Lok Sabha elections. "The Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal, erstwhile IkkJutt Jammu, will contest two Parliamentary seats from Jammu-Samba-Reasi and Udhampur- Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituencies while in total, more than 400 MP candidates will be fielded by the party across the country on one common symbol," he stated while addressing the media today.Additionally, according to Ankur Sharma, the party started the process of changing the name from IkkJutt Jammu to Ekam Sanatan Bharat in April 2023, and it was finished on December 5, 2023, when the Indian Election Commission approved it. It is important to note that IkKJutt Jammu became Pan India in April 2023. Over 2000 Founder members from 28 States and all Union Territories came together at the organization's inaugural convention in Haridwar. State Steering Committees were then informed in each of India's states. Following that, state working committees were established in addition to elections for the position of state president. In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Ankur Sharma urged people to vote and support Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal so that the fight for the political empowerment of Sanatan Sanskriti and civilization can be effectively waged through democratic means.
