INDIA bloc MPs stage protest in front of Gandhi statue against bulk suspension

NEW DELHI: On Wednesday morning, members of the Indian Parliament from bloc parties, including those who have been suspended, are protesting in front of the Gandhi statue on the Parliament grounds regarding the suspension of 141 opposition MPs and the'security breach' incident. The opposition MPs seem unflinching in their pursuit of a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah inside the House following the December 13 security breach incident. The protest was spearheaded by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress Parliamentary Leader Sonia Gandhi, with participation from other opposition MPs, including those on suspension.Karti Chidambaram, a Congress MP, stated, "This will be the norm. My way or the highway, that is. We have the majority, so we'll kick you out if you don't follow our lead. We are in charge of both Houses. The Parliament is to be transformed into a stamping house by them." Congressman Shashi Tharoor declared, "This is a stain on our democracy and a questionable record in parliamentary history." Rather than upholding democracy, they have acted. Accountability to Parliament is the paramount duty of ministers. This government doesn't want a conversation about the security breach in the house, but the home minister ought to have visited the house and addressed the issue. Their only goal is to make it "my way or the highway."
