Sikh Gurus Taught Indians To Live For Their Land’s Glory: PM

NEW DELHI, Dec 26: Speaking on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Sikh gurus had inspired Indians to improve and develop their nation by teaching them to live for the beauty of their homeland. Speaking during an event called "Veer Bal Diwas" to honour the martyrdom of two of Guru Gobind Singh's sons, Modi stated that programmes in the US, Australia, and New Zealand are among the nations where their sacrifices are being honoured in addition to being remembered in India. According to Modi, his administration has a clear plan in place to help all young people in India realise their limitless potential, regardless of the area or culture in which they were raised. He cited the growth in the Indian economy as evidence that the government has a clear policy and good intentions. The prime minister urged youth to prioritise their health, stating that fit individuals would be "super hits" in both their professional and personal lives. He urged them to abstain from drug use, follow a healthy diet, and choose digital detoxification. Modi urged social groups and religious authorities to start an anti-drug campaign. In his homage to the two "Sahibzadas," the prime minister stated that "Veer Bal Diwas" represents the determination to do whatever it takes to preserve Indianness. PM Modi attends programme marking ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi furthered his concept of "Sabka Saath" on Tuesday by attending a Veer Baal Diwas programme at the cutting-edge Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, one day after receiving a delegation of Christians at his home in the capital on Christmas Day. Prime Minister Modi will lead a youth march later in the day to commemorate "Veer Baal Diwas." Additionally, the government would arrange citizen-involved programmes across the nation to teach and enlighten the populace—especially young children—about the heroic bravery of the two young Khalsas known as the Sahibzades.There will be a digital exhibit about the life and sacrifice of the Sahibzades on display in childcare centres and schools around the nation. 'Veer Baal Diwas' will also be the subject of a nationwide film screening. The MYBharat and MyGov portals will host a number of online competitions, including interactive quiz shows. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that December 26 would be observed annually as 'Veer Bal Diwas' to commemorate the martyrdom of his sons Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji on January 9, 2022, the day of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Prakash Purab. On this day, too, the great revolutionary Udham Singh was born. In March 1940, he killed General O'Dwyer, who had ordered his troops to open fire on peaceful protestors, in retaliation for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar on Baisakhi in 1919. Later, the British executed Shaheed Udham Singh by hanging in London. Udham Singh, who was born on December 26, 899, in Sunam, Punjab, was raised as Sher Singh. Udham Singh was forever affected by the massacre that occurred on April 13, 1919, at Jallianwala Bagh. General Dwyer opened fire on the crowd celebrating Baisakhi at Jallianwala Bagh in Armitsar. He blocked off the main entrance and gave the order for his troops to fire on the gathering. On March 13, 1940, the British officer was due to speak at Caxton Hall in London. Uddham Singh went into the hallway, concealed a handgun inside a book, and shot O'Dwyer. On April 1, 1940, he was formally charged with the murder. In detention, he identified as "Ram Mohammad Singh Azad." In London, on July 31, 1940, he was hanged. Our Priority Is To Empower Poor And Deprived Sections: PM

INDORE, Dec 25: The respect and empowerment of the underprivileged and impoverished segments of society is the government's top priority, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. He added that during the BJP's "double-engine" government (at the centre and in Madhya Pradesh), thousands of crores of rupees had been invested in the area around Indore. Modi stated this will result in thousands of job opportunities while speaking via video link at a programme held to distribute debts totaling Rs 224 crore that belonged to employees of the Hukumchand Mill in the city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He said at the "Mazdooron ka Hit, Mazdooron ko Samarpit" programme that the decision will help over 4,800 labourers.The PM expressed his gratitude to the state government for finally resolving the long-standing issue and said he was fortunate to be present. According to him, the Madhya Pradesh government has made great progress in improving the lives of the underprivileged. As I've always stated, the poor, young, women, and farmers make up the largest four castes in my opinion. Respecting and empowering the underprivileged is our top priority, he declared. Modi went on to say that the "double-engine" government and the people of the state will benefit from receiving the blessings of labourers on Good Governance Day, which is observed on the anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth. Following the closure of the Hukumchand Mill in Indore in 1992 and its liquidation, the workers engaged in a protracted legal battle to recover their dues. The state Housing & Infrastructure Development Board and labour unions signed a settlement agreement on the Madhya Pradesh government's initiative, and on December 20, the settlement money was deposited in the high court, according to officials earlier. According to what Modi has been told, there was a festive mood in Indore when the package for the workers at Hukumchand Mill was announced. "Our labourer brothers and sisters are even more joyful now that this decision has been made," he remarked. According to Modi, years of penance by labourers produced today's programme. It is the result of many years of their dreams and resolutions. I firmly believe that the families of…

Centre needs to address the root cause of terrorism in J&K: Farooq

JAMMU: President of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah stated on Sunday that the fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be won by the use of force, and he urged the Centre to look for solutions to deal with the underlying causes of the threat. According to the former chief minister, since terrorism is taking the lives of innocent people, the general public should also realise how pointless the ongoing violence is. Speaking with reporters outside of this book launch, Abdullah attacked the BJP for claiming that things are back to normal in Jammu and Kashmir"Promoting tourism or shouting for normalcy won't put an end to terrorism, which still exists. They were saying that the repeal of Article 370 (in 2019) put an end to terrorism, but after four years, it is still present and won't end until its underlying causes are identified, according to Abdullah. He was responding to the murder of retired police officer Mohd Shafi, who was shot dead by terrorists inside a mosque in his Gantmulla village in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir while delivering the "azan," or call to prayer. "I'm sorry the officer was killed. Those who are advocating for normalcy remain silent; instead of tackling the underlying issue, they attempted bandaging the wounds superficially. The common people need to realise that we are losing both officers and soldiers," Abdullah declared. The president of the National Conference stated that he is unable to comprehend how killing innocent people will benefit those who commit acts of violence. "To put an end to the carnage in Jammu and Kashmir, the central government needed to find the right approach. We have to find ways to stop terrorism instead of claiming normalcy or bringing up tourism, which is vulnerable in the face of terrorism, since we are, and always have been, a part of India," the speaker stated. According to him, using military or police force won't put an end to terrorism. "We have to go deeper and address the root cause to finish it off." Questioned about the increasing terror activity in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, Abdullah said that this goes against the government's assertions that everything is 'honky-dory'. "Who are the people calling for normalcy? Propaganda won't accomplish anything because people are dying in this place. They need to come up with a solution, and Farooq Abdullah doesn't have a book that offers one," he remarked. When asked if he thought India and Pakistan should discuss the issue, Abdullah replied that the central government should make the final decision In a different interview with the media, Abdullah voiced his worries about the possible deaths of three civilians while in detention after five soldiers were killed in a mash in the Poonch area of Surankote. He added that winning the fight against terrorism depends on the support of the populace. Terrorists who had earlier attacked and murdered our brave soldiers also tortured and killed three locals. This is bad news because the fight is against terrorism, not internal problems. If we aggravate our people, we will never win this war," he said.  [caption id="attachment_7708" align="alignnone" width="300"] Centre needs to address the root cause of…
